Involvement in MnAEYC subcommittees offers members a unique opportunity to directly shape the organization’s work while enhancing their own professional growth. By participating in committees such as Professional Development, Membership Nurturing, Policy & Advocacy, or Equity, members contribute their expertise and ideas to initiatives that strengthen the early childhood education profession across Minnesota. This collaboration ensures that MnAEYC’s programs, events, and advocacy efforts reflect the diverse needs and perspectives of its community.
For members, engaging in subcommittees provides valuable networking opportunities and the chance to develop leadership skills in a collaborative environment. Members can gain firsthand experience in areas such as event planning, policy development, and equity-focused initiatives, all while working alongside passionate peers and experienced leaders. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work on annual fundraising and development plan
-
Building relationships with businesses, organizations, and philanthropy

Annual Giving Campaign
-
Grant fund development
-
Secure sponsorships of MnAEYC events
-
Board storytelling, elevator speech, and promoting MnAEYC
MEMBERSHIP NURTURING COMMITTEE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Work on annual membership recruitment and engagement plan
-
Monthly emails to new members welcoming and monthly emails to members up for a renewal
-
Plan and lead membership engagement initiatives, such as informal networking events, tabling at conferences
-
Plan for annual meeting of members
POLICY AND ADVOCACY COMMITTEE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Stay informed and engage in public policy activities, including coalition efforts, at the state level and through NAEYC at the federal level
-
Grassroots organizing and legislative and administrative outreach during Minnesota’s legislative session
-
Work with MnAEYC staff and Board to develop, review, and release the policy agenda for the upcoming year
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop an annual plan for how MnAEYC supports Accreditation

Planning of Winter Leadership Institute (WLI), MnAEYC Annual Conference and Summer Leadership Institute (SLI)
-
Recruit speakers for Events
-
Planning on-going monthly events such as Leadership Networking and Webinars
EQUITY COMMITTEE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and maintain the MnAEYC equity statement

Guide equity integration into strategic planning
-
Promote equity-focused professional development
-
Enhance member engagement and representation
